I don’t know if you’ve noticed that button to the left that says “This is my first Bliss”?
Well, it’s because I’m going to a blogging conference for the very first time next month! Blissdom is in Nashville and I’m pretty excited (and super nervous). Anyway, I hope to see some familiar-ish faces when I get there, so here’s a little about me:

1. I’m painfully shy. I’m super nervous about the conference because it means I will be traveling alone to a place where I’ve never been and probably won’t see anybody I know. Plus, I’ve never flown by myself…I’ve taken plenty of solo road trips, but it’s much different to find my way around an airport and get to where I need to be without my handy GPS and only stopping to duck in and out of a gas station once in a while.
2. I blog about my family mostly…I’ve got four kids, all under 7 (that number keeps going up….seems a little less crazy each time!), and I try to capture their lives and milestones so my mommy brain doesn’t file them away and lose them. I also like to write about crafts or recipes I’ve tried, and other random things I feel like saying. Oh, and I got a Nikon D3100 for Christmas, so I post a lot of pictures (HA! I totally did that before, too….but now they’re better pictures).
3. I stay at home with my kids….most of the time. I sell jewelry, so my part time “job” is doing parties.
4. I have a BS in Earth Science and an MBA.  I’ve never actually “used” either of them.
5. This is what I really look like:
Oh, wait. NO. Scratch that. That is NOT what I will look like at Blissdom, unless my daughter stows away in my suitcase and plays with my makeup while I’m sleeping on the plane.
THIS is what I look like:
Whoops….sorry again. Big Erv is not coming with me, so it’s unlikely I’ll be kissing him while the fabulous Megan Hein makes me look good.
Um…this one maybe?
Yes, that’s my twitter avatar and it’s recent and it’s what I look like. Promise.
6. I live in NE Kansas, surrounded by corn fields. The closest Target and Starbucks are 45 minutes away. It’s a glamorous life.
7. I have a big, close family with a couple of brothers and a few sisters-in-law and lot of nieces and nephews and cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
If you’re curious about my “back story” and why I am the way I am now, there are a few glimpses here here here and here.
I’m excited to meet so many of you next month! If you’re not as shy as I am, come talk to me. I promise I’m not as snooty as I look.
