What do you think of my blog? Cute, right?? Wacky Jacquis designed it for me.

Anyway…

Ivy had her first day of preschool this morning.

For months, she’s been talking about how she doesn’t want to go, and she’ll be scared. And I’ve been worried about it for months.

And you know what she does when we get there this morning? Nothing. No tears, no clinging to my pants, nothing. She just started playing in the bird seed with her teacher and another little girl.

Now, I don’t know if she talked to anybody, or if she even said a word during class, but I know that her favorite thing to do during the three hours was Play-doh, and that they read a story. She couldn’t tell me which story, but whatever. It’s a start.

She also said that she was excited to go back because she didn’t get a chance to play puzzles. We saw a whole shelf of puzzles last week at Meet the Teacher night, and she loves to do them because she’s really good at them. Or maybe it’s the other way around.

But, she was SO over me taking her picture when I picked her up.

It’s such a beautiful day today that when we got home from picking her up, the girls and I went outside (Big Erv was napping). Ivy wanted to sit in the tree, and as I was hoisting Essie up there, too (because if her sister’s doing it, Essie’s doing it), I saw some locust shells.

Ivy now has a “cowection” of shells in a jar. I’m already thinking ahead to “L” week for Show and Tell.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, Essie has done fabulously with her recovery. She never even acted like it was bothering her. Yay for quick and easy!
