Henry started kindergarten last week, you know. But Ivy doesn’t start preschool until next Monday. I’m not really looking forward to it, and neither is she (but we only tell her how exciting and fun it will be, okay??).

Last night she had her Meet the Teacher night, where she got to go to the classroom, meet her teacher (duh) and play for a little bit while T. and I were filling out papers and hearing about the kids’ schedule, etc.

I wasn’t really looking forward to that, either…Ivy doesn’t really want us to leave her anywhere (you remember how I had to stay in the dance studio for her first ballet lesson, right?).

But, before we left, she started that giddy/chatterbox/giggly thing that happens when she’s excited.

She was still excited as we found her name on the sidewalk, walked in her classroom, found her name on the yellow table, and located her “french fry Friday” box.

She even sat on her teacher’s lap and listened to a story.

Of course, Ervin was there, since I hardly leave the house without him.

But then it was time for T. and I to leave the room with the other parents. She wasn’t thrilled with that. Ervin and I went on ahead, and T. stayed back, taking a few steps toward the door as Ivy got more comfortable playing with the dollhouse and her other teacher.

She was still playing with the dollhouse when we got back.

I think she’s going to like it once she warms up to everybody, but I also think she may be playing just as much by herself as with the other kids. It’s just her personality. Of course, I could be wrong…we’ll see next week!

Before bed, she asked when we could go back to “that place”. *swoon*

Hey, while you’re here, my newest post is up over at cafemom.com! This one is about school (because I just can’t get enough of it).
