I told you earlier about the “bees” in Ivy’s room, right? That’s what she calls any bug that isn’t a butterfly, and she’s had some moths in her room. Last night, when I checked on her at 9:30, she was still awake. I asked her if she was going to go to sleep, and she said no, she wanted to watch the bees (by now there are only a couple moths in her room at a time).

Essie woke me up at midnight and 2:45 am, so when I heard crying at 4:45 am, I was a little peeved. But when I got to the hallway, I realized it was coming from one of the big two. After a second of listening, I heard Ivy yelling/sobbing “Eeee-Yoohhh” over and over.

I went in her room, and she was sitting up crying and yelling “Eeee-Yooohhhh” like she was paralyzed with fear. I asked her what was wrong, and she said “there’s a bee on my face”. I looked and yes, there was something on her face. I pulled it off and scraped off a couple bits of something stuck to her cheek. I asked her if it had bitten her, and she said no, that it felt better. I looked at it in my hand, and saw weird green and red pointy things like a shell. I said to Ivy “that’s a weird little guy” and it dawned on me….I smelled it…sure enough, chocolate. It was mushed up M&M minis, in a perfect bug shape. I told Ivy it was just chocolate. She said “oh” and laid down and went back to sleep.

The end.
