You may have noticed my absence this week…at least, I hope you have.

(If not, I don’t need to know.)

My brain is still kind of in a fog after returning from the Blissdom conference on Sunday, and I’m trying to get back into the routine of things around here. Plus, Essie’s biopsy showed that she does, in fact, have Celiac Disease. So, my foggy brain is busy adjusting to a completely new diet and lifestyle around here.

I will be back Sunday night with a list of my favorite things from Blissdom and some of the stuff I learned, but for now, I’ve got a couple of items of business to cover.

First, remember the #GetFit #MemorialDayHottie challenge? I’ve got an update on that for you. For the most part, I’ve kept up well with it. There have only been a handful of days that I haven’t exercised, and that was because I somehow messed up my ankles. They were pretty painful there for a while, but I took several days off to let them heal, and thankfully, they were back to normal by the time I went to the gigantic, walk-a-mile-to-get-to-your-room-and-then-walk-another-to-find-dinner Gaylord Opryland hotel last week.

Two days ago, I started the Couch to 5K program, so I’m about halfway through the first week of that. Side note: why is it that my kids think it’s so interesting and funny when I jog on the treadmill? Maybe because they’ve never seen me run/jog before. If you had asked me last week if I thought I’d be able to jog, the answer would have been an resounding “NO”. But (so far), I’ve been able to do it. Wish me luck that I can keep moving through the program!

Blissdom didn’t do much for my diet (hello, rich and fabulous food!), but I’m trying my best to get back on track. Also, it’s hard when you can’t serve anything with gluten anymore. I had gotten into a routine with my meals and now I’m being forced to reevaluate what I’m going to eat.

So, that’s where I’m at right now with the #GetFit challenge.

Lastly, remember my very first Great Expectations guest post from Jamie? Well, she’s returning the hosting duty favors today, and I’m over at her place talking to my 18-year-old self for If I Could Turn Back Time.

I would love it if you’d head over there and see what I have to say to the little teenage twerp.
