By now you know that I’m addicted to Pinterest. I love it. It’s a total time-suck, but I love searching it for recipes and things…just this week I found a recipe for pumpkin chili, because I had roasted a pumpkin and didn’t know what to make with it. And it was DELICIOUS.
Anyway, so I’ve been doing Julie’s 52 Weeks of Pinterest Challenge, and so far, I haven’t missed a week! I’ve cut it close, yes…but I haven’t missed it.
One of the first things I found to pin was this:

It originally came from the blog …from glitter to gumdrops
I LOVED the idea of using a wedding invitation to make a keepsake that could be hung up year after year. Because, come on…besides your scrapbook or refrigerator, where else are you going to put an invitation?
I also thought the idea of giving a handmade gift was more special, too, than just wrapping a blender and slapping a bow on it. (We did, however, also give them a bottle of wine. Ahem.)
My friend Courtney got married this past weekend, and I knew I wanted to make it for her.
Her wedding was a lot of fun…I thought it had a circus vibe, T. thought it was more steampunk. Whatever it was, it was creative and original.
As was the invitation. It was very antique-y looking, so I ended up using a peach ribbon (truthfully, one of the only skinny kinds I had) and a copper heart/key charm set. I think the combo looked really pretty together.

I really like the way it turned out, and I hope my friend and her new husband did, too!
