I had a show tonight and got home, thinking that I HAD to post something because it had been several days since my last post. It’s been two days. It’s been a busy two days.

I’m going to have to dedicate a post on Monday or Tuesday to Henry’s Grandparents’ Day yesterday. Was that only yesterday? Well, anyway, Henry had SIX of his grandparents in his class yesterday, and I think that’s 4-5 more than most kids in his class. He had a really good time, and I think his grandparents did, too. Four of the six made a 6-7 hour trip just for the event, and thankfully stayed for a day or so (I would’ve felt bad if they had driven all the way just to turn around and go home). But they got some good quality time with the kids, which they needed. The other two grandparents came from all the way on the other side of our neighbors’ house. But they were welcomed with cheers and smiles as well. There will be plenty of pictures as soon as I get around to posting them.

Like I said, I had a jewelry show tonight. I know it’s only the second of October, but it was my first Halloween show. I love Halloween, so I was excited that my hostess was willing to go along with the theme this early in the month. It was fun!

Last night, I went to a jewelry show. That’s right…I didn’t HAVE a jewelry show, I WENT to one. My jeweler had her second show, and said it was okay for me to come watch her, see how she’s doing. I love the hostess (and she makes the BEST snacks!) so I was excited to go to the show and just relax. Participate. It was a lot of fun, too! And I ate too much. But it was so good.

I also had a show on Wednesday which was not Halloween-themed, but it was a good show. Some new faces, some familiar faces, lots of chatting and laughing. And my hostess got a lot of free jewelry, so that always makes it all worth it.

My last post was on fall decorating. The girls and I went to three different stores while Henry was in preschool on Thursday. By the time we got home, I was so exhausted that I didn’t want to clean the house for our company at all. Instead, I started making the garland, covering the kitchen table with strips of fabric, ribbon, and tulle. By the way, my favorite part of the garland is the glittered tulle. I got two colors, and they are fabulous! They’re also messy. I was covered in glitter by the time I got done, as was the table, floor, baby. But anyway, I took a break from the garland construction, because I knew I had to get around to cleaning, and T. helped me a lot with that. Then I finished my garland and the cleaning (sort of). I realize that the following pictures aren’t great, but I was so excited at 10:30 when I finished that I went ahead a took a shot. There is also a mum plant and pumpkins outside, but I haven’t gotten photos of those yet. And it’s a work in progress anyway.

I’m going to take better pictures of the garland during the day sometime, so you can see the colors and details.

The problem with having small kids is that decorative stuff has to be up high. That’s why the pumpkins and garland are on top to the TV shelves. I think I’m going to put up a shelf in the living room or dining room that I can decorate for each season. Even the pumpkins outside are a little bit of a headache….Henry must have “rearranged” them a dozen times yesterday.

Okay, so my birthday is in exactly one week, so tomorrow, we’re going to Worlds of Fun to celebrate! Henry keeps asking a million questions about what’s going to be there, and I try to answer, but I also have to say “wait and see!”. I wish that my younger brother and his wife could come with us. Ethan and Misty, you will be missed. We love you guys.
