Project 365: Week 37

I was in Cleveland last weekend for Bloggy Conference, and I think I’m finally recovered.

Sept. 7

My lunch notes are not Pinterest-worthy. (But my kids like them?)

Still recovering.

Sept. 12

On my way to the airport, waiting on a train. I made it through security two minutes before boarding. Yay, me!

Sept. 13

We visited Cedar Point and now all of my Mamavation friends that were with me think I’m a total weenie. Because I am, at amusement parks, spooked up for Halloween. (This was while it was still daylight….that’s a look on pure hysterical paranoia on my face)

A New Study on BPA in Cash Register Receipts

This post is sponsored by the Mamavation community but all opinions are 100% my own (as if you ever doubted). Fun fact about me: I didn’t declare my major in college until either the end of my sophomore year or beginning of my junior year. As in, the last possible moment. I just didn’t knowContinue Reading

Project 365: Week 21

Summer break has started! I’m both excited and scared! But really, we have a lot of fun things planned, plus plenty of down time, so it should be good. May 18 I finished the weekend with the Mamavation 5K (and ended the #2weekchallenge). I tried really, really hard to get a PR, and it wasContinue Reading

My Fitness Goals for 2014 #Mamavation

Exactly one year ago, I published a post that had me anxious, my heart beating a little faster, just a little bit scared, and raring to go. Back then, I was in a place of feeling sluggish and ready to be active again. And, I met all of my goals…officially running an entire 5K, doingContinue Reading

The Winter Running Doldrums

I received a shirt from Allied Shirts to review, but all opinions are my own. Y’all, the winter blahs have set in. It’s cold (SO COLD). It’s dry, it’s sometimes snowy, sometimes windy. Who’s idea was it to run a half marathon in January?! Oh yeah. MINE. But it’ll be fine, because it’s in Disney World, soContinue Reading

California Dreamin’ #fitcation13

Disclosure: The costs of the events and activities for Fitcation were defrayed by sponsors, and the attendees were contractually obligated to write a summary of the experience and also received free swag items. However, the thoughts and opinions I’m sharing in this post are honest and my own. I left for the airport loooong beforeContinue Reading

The California Coast #iPPP

I can’t really begin to put into words what Fitcation was like. People keep asking what it was, and I can’t really describe it. It wasn’t a conference, exactly, because there were no sessions. It’s kind of like a retreat, but the events, activities and meals were sponsored. The website says that it’s a “healthyContinue Reading

I Finished. #iPPP

I have so many mixed emotions about the half marathon, and I’m trying to formulate coherent thoughts on it, but in my brain, I’m not really succeeding. My mom and I drove to Wichita (a couple of hours away) on Friday afternoon, picked up our packets, and met up with my friend Liz. We wentContinue Reading

Project 365 (Week 34)

I think this was the first full week of school for the big two, and the countdown to school starting for the preschooler. It was kind of a whirlwind. Aug. 18 I got up EARLY (before the sun) to run my longest ever long run for my half marathon training, 9 miles. While I wasContinue Reading

Dirty Girls

Remember when I told you about the Dirty Girl Mud Run, and how excited I was about it? Well, it was last Saturday, and it was pretty. awesome. My sister-in-law ended up not being about to go because of their summer travel schedule, but my cousin and I still got to participate together (thank goodness….neitherContinue Reading
