This week has been a lot of fun. There was a graduation, a trip to the park, two days of summer vacation, TONS of gardening and the start of Memorial Day weekend.

While Nana and Papa were visiting for the week between preschool graduation and kindergarten graduation, Papa (the gardening expert) helped us plant our very first vegetable garden. The kids helped some….planting seeds, putting the markers down, etc. Ivy actually helped shovel rows, while Henry cheered her on (the sign he’s holding is one he made: “go Ivy go”) and then got upset when we didn’t say he was a good helper, too.

Monday was GORGEOUS. We spent the entire day outside with Nana and Papa, and had sweaters on for most of the day. It was divine.

And, more of my lilies bloomed. I planted them last year. Can you say “low maintenance gardening?” I love them so much.

After Henry got home from school, we went to a park about 30 minutes away. It’s a pretty cool place, and T. brought pizza from Godfather’s (where they sell gluten free pizza) for supper.

Henry graduated from kindergarten. *sniffle*

That morning, I remembered that I was going to draw him a little note for his very last boxed lunch. I didn’t have much inspiration, so I grabbed a Halloween book. I just decided to draw him two of his favorite things, and ended up with this:

Later, when I asked him what he thought of it, he said “but it didn’t even make sense.” HA.

Another gorgeous day (although, a little hotter). The girls rode their bikes (Ivy on the actual bike this time) outside for a long while.

Apparently, this is the only picture I took yesterday. I don’t really want to show it again (I mean, really). But I guess I don’t have a choice. This is a good reminder to take more pictures every day.

We finally went to the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center in Topeka today.  It was A LOT of fun for the kids. So much to do!

What did you do this week? Any fun Memorial Day plans?
