I’ve learned some things this week.

1) It IS possible for us to be a pacifier-less household. I did not think I would be able to say that for AT LEAST two more years, but none of the children use a binky anymore. Big Erv started using his as a chew toy a couple of weeks ago, and we just stopped giving it to him. And everyone survived!

2) My husband now knows how to use the steam mop. Because he made a mess doing the dishes. Thanks, babe!

3) Essie is VERY MUCH a two year old. That’s all I have to say about that.

4) Actually, I will say that she’s sending me over the edge lately, at least in my head. I’m very proud of the fact that I’ve been able to block out the incessant crying when she doesn’t get what she wants. Which is a lot of the time.

5) I’ve also learned that she will stop crying eventually. It might not be until Daddy gets home, but it will happen.

6) It seems like Henry and Ivy have been out of school a lot lately. Okay, maybe it’s only been two days, but when they’re both home all day, it takes me back to the summer, and I want desperately for them to go back to school. It’s not that I don’t love my children. It’s just that they’re so LOUD together.

7) And besides…don’t they have stuff to learn?

8) Ervin has very sharp teeth. And I’m still nursing him. I wasn’t sure if I would make it through the week able to say those two things truthfully, but I did. And he’s biting a bit less than he was a few days ago. Thank goodness.

9) Henry and Ivy are doing well in school. We had Parent-Teacher Conferences this week, and both of their teachers loaded on the praise. Henry’s teacher, though, told us that Henry would much rather draw and do things that HE wants to do, then focus on what he’s SUPPOSED to do. Sounds a touch like his dad. Both of them, actually.

10) Henry started telling me something this week by saying “Mama, your two daughters are…”. Ha! Cracked me up.

11) Ivy told me about a dream she had…she said there were zombies messing up the toy room, and she was going up the stairs because she was scared of them.

And scene.

12) T. got a really good deal on some Playstation sports games, and even though Henry doesn’t really know what he’s doing on the football game, he can yell “hut! hut! huthuthut!” with the best of them.

13) My baby will continue to grow up, even if I tell him not to. He’s a rebel, that one. And he turned seven months old on Monday!

And one of these days, I’ll get his seven month picture done and posted.

In the meantime, here are a few Halloween pictures to get you through the weekend. 😉

Why did the pirate, the butterfly, the elephant, and the banana cross the road?

Isn’t this a gorgeous picture? I mean, seriously.

Aargh!

The saddest elephant you ever done seen.

All of these pictures were taken by the uber-talented, uber-patient Megan at Snapshots of a Good Life.
