So, I missed last week. I wasn’t feeling it. (And yes, I did come up with the prompt “deception” because I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING).

I did take a picture or two, so I’ll just do them both here. Okey dokey?

Deception

Fall around here looks pretty bleak. By now, the fields are full of dry, dead-looking…stuff. If you didn’t know better, you’d think the farmers were having a terrible year. Again. I’m definitely not an expert, but I know that it looks like this every year, so it can’t be that bad.

Anyway, the field behind our house alternates each year between corn and soybeans. Right now, it looks crispy and dead and…yuck. But pop open a seed, and you’ve got lovely little soybeans inside. Can you see them? I bet we’ll be seeing combines out there any day now.

From the Ground

We had Henry’s birthday party this past weekend, and it was at a museum. Henry was one of the last people ready to leave. Erv, Essie and their daddy and grandparents’ went outside for a while to get some fresh air towards the end, and they were playing with little solar Halloween bobbleheads that they got from hubs’ parents.

Through The Lens Thursday is a self-improvement photography project that Alison of Writing, Wishing and I are doing this year.

Don’t forget to join our Flickr group or share your own posts if you’d like to follow along and work on your own photography! And use the hashtag #throughthelensthursday to connect with others working on it, too.

Next week’s prompt is SWEET  (I think that might be a good week for Alison to come back, don’t you? Just saying, adorable twins are super sweet.)
