I’ve had another good week on the fitness/health front! I was completely surprised that I was chosen (out of, like, 400 applicants) to be one of the Omron Running Challenge Ambassadors. Basically, I’ll be receiving an Omron Strapless Heart Rate Monitor and a training plan that will hopefully get me running faster and stronger in a virtual 5K on March 30. I would LOVE love love to have you guys join me that day in the virtual race! If you do, tweet at me @gfunkified using the #iheartomron hashtag, or post on my Facebook wall and well cheer each other on! I’ll be giving you updates on the challenge (which includes interval training, core and leg strength training and some intense cardio stuff), so watch for them. And wish me luck!

Speaking of running, you know that I ran the Mamavation virtual 5K Saturday afternoon, which was great, and I definitely pushed myself out of my comfort zone for that. And, it brought my mile total for the year up to 132.1/500! I’ve already shown you my “official” race photo, but here’s one of my still-sweaty self and the girls. Ivy took the first one, and then Essie wanted to be in it, too, so we all got in the picture. (Totally unflattering of me, but the girls are cute! And yes, still in their nightgowns.)

What else? Well, I’ve been making it my personal mission to get 6-8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, which is probably 4-6 more than I’m used to getting, honestly. Speaking of challenges…. But, most days, I’ve done it, and I feel really good!

I’ve also still been adding in some extra workouts on top of the running, doing strength stuff and workout videos. And as a direct result of the exercise and better eating, I’ve lost another 1.6 pounds this week!
