If you’ve been following along with my running goals for the year, and especially if you like my page on Facebook (if you don’t, you totally should), you know I’ve been trucking along. I’m running between 12-15 miles a week, and this past Friday, I hit 100 HUNDRED MILES!

When I started the year and made it my goal to run (not walk) 500 miles, I didn’t really think I could do it. Or rather, I thought I could but that I would be pushing it. I figured out that I would have to do 10 miles a week and have two weeks “leftover” to make up for weeks that I slacked on or couldn’t get 10 miles in.

Well. If I was doing that, I’d be at around 80 miles after this first 8 week period. BUT, if you’re paying attention, I’m now at 103.1 miles, as of Saturday.

Because I also ran my third (virtual) 5K of the year (out of the 13 I made it my goal to complete). The first one, in January, I ran (without stopping) in just barely over 40 minutes. The second one, a couple of weeks ago, I finished in 37:36. This one? I ran in 35:50. WOOHOO! I don’t know how long I’ll be able to keep cutting two minutes off of my time (or if I ever will again), but the last two have been personal bests for me, and I’m really proud.

So. Now you’re all caught up on my progress. Here’s to 396.9 more miles!
