Good, Clean Fun. #iPPP

Welcome to #iPPP! Sarah at The Sunday Spill and I want to see your funny, your yummy, your heartfelt, your favorite phone photos of the week. All you need is a blog post containing at least one photo from any phone camera. Link up below!

After bath time is goofy time. When there is drying off to be done, both of us locked in place, planted in the bathroom. No video games, no smart phones, no distractions.

Wet hair is fluffed and spiked, silly jokes are told. The question is asked again, as always: “Mama, do you know how to play Minecraft? You should. It’s a really fun game.”

Hearty laughs, feigned frustration at the lack of drying, jokes. Lots of jokes “Mama, can I say fart? Can I say penis?” Belly laughs before I even open my mouth to answer.

With four kids, it’s hard to get one on one time with any of them, especially in the house. This after-bath time has turned into some of the most fun I have all day, and I have my squishy-cheeked, freckle-faced, to-die-for-eyelashed seven year old to thank.

Belly laughs are the best. My kids still belly laugh about saying "penis"…
I enjoy just being able to send my kids to take their showers now, but bath time was always fun! Brings back good memories :)

  2. Co-Pilot Mom says:

I love the after bath time at our house, too. There is something about that time that is really special; I don't know if it's the water, the laughter, or the day winding down. It's one of my favourite times of the day.

  3. Julia says:

Bath time is the best, I always feel like he still looks like a baby in the bath tub.

  4. Kristen says:

I'm past bath time in my house. :-( My girls take showers now and don't need me around until it is time to blow dry their hair. (And that is the part that I like the least…they have long, thick hair and it takes forever to get it dry!)

How darn cute is Henry with all of those missing teeth?!

  5. amandaeaustin says:

Ok……CONFESSION….as cute as your little man is and he is TOTALLY CUTE….i am freaked out beyond all reason when it comes to teeth being gone….always have!!!! But I do agree…bath time is the most fun time. At my house, LUke always wants to snuggle after…."COLD!!!" :)

  6. i love that toothless gaping grin! so cool. my oldest hasn't lost a single tooth yet and I think we're all dying for that next milestone! And I understand about the one on one. SO important. we don't do it enough around here……hahaha. can I say penis???

    • gretafunk says:

Oh, I know! Ivy keeps asking when she's going to lose hers, but the dentist said it's usually around 6 1/2. Still a while away. And yes, everybody can say penis!

  7. Mamaintheburbs says:

How many teeth does your son have missing? I bet he was glad when the tooth fairy came! I love bath time too. I love watching my daughter play in the bath and then getting her dressed and snuggly in her pjs too. We giggle and I love doing her hair. Your son is a cutie pie!

    • gretafunk says:

Ha! Yes. He's lost six so far. Two of them are grown back, and the last one just came out a few days ago.

Bath time is fun. Heck, I wish I could hang out all day in the bath tub, too!

  8. Kerry says:

Seriously Greta every time I see his face I think of my brother and Squints. HE COULD BE MY BROTHER if you put a big pair of glasses on him. SO cute!

  9. Renée A. Schuls-Jacobson says:

So cute! And can I tell you missing teeth is a lot cuter at this age than at 14. My dude is STILL losing teeth! Oy.

My post is a Valentine's day post. It's also a #giveaway. If you love gnomes {or know someone who does} feel free to leave me a comment. Not only will I give you a You Tube song, but you'll have a chance to win really cute gnome salt & pepper shakers.

Such sweet pictures. I hope my little boy still lets me bathe him at 7. He still promises he and his wife will live with me, but you know I won't hold him to it :)

    • gretafunk says:

I don't really get to bathe him anymore. I just pretty much supervise or, at the very least, get him dried and fix his hair. Snort!

My son still says sometimes that he doesn't want to go to college. He'd rather just live at home. :)

  11. Alison says:

Aw, dude, he's growing up so quick. Stop it children!
It's nice, to have that fun, goofy, unstructured time. It's needed, isn't it?

  12. Farrah says:

I was sitting here with Chase on my lap and he loved his pics- pointed and said 'Happy guy!' Which is does look indeed :)

  13. Mama Pants says:

I am so loving that second pic. What a nut. I Love it. Oh and he stole my heart at "Can I say fart?" lol What a total sugar.

  14. euregirlsandboys says:

    It looks silly and fun!

  15. So sweet. I love one on one time with our kids. Good for you for making it really special.

Also, much to my chagrin, FART is an okay word in this house. Sigh. Blame my husband.

  16. Kimberly says:

My kids get silly after their bath too, and while it used to frustrate me because it prolonged getting dry and dressed, now it makes me smile. They're just kids being kids. And I love that.

  17. I miss bath time :( Although, sometimes after my girls are done showering, I wonder if we shouldn't go back to the basics when half their hair is still dry. How does that happen?!

  18. Carolyn Y says:

Love these photos and memories. Both my girls become clowns after bath!

  19. mamamash says:

I'm like Amanda, no matter how cute a kid is, the missing teeth freak me out! :) I think it's sweet you guys get to hang out for bathtime though!

  20. I was lucky enough to have some alone time outside of the house with my 2 year old today. It's such a rare treat to get them one on one!

  21. christineyu69776410 says:

What a great picture. I love after-bath time too. My youngest gets out of the tub, gets wrapped up in a towel and says, "mommy snuggle me" and my heart melts. Belly laughs are the best!!

  22. bocafrau says:

I only get this special bath-alone-time with my little one now. The other two are too old and too independent! In some ways I love it, in others not so much! He's adorable, love the toothless smile!!! :)

    • gretafunk says:

Thanks, Susi! He's already independent enough to bathe himself. I just hang out with him sometimes….make sure he washes his hair and all that. :)

  23. Kiran says:

Oh my goodness. I love his little teeth! So cute!

  24. Audrey says:

I love all his missing teeth! Bath time is one of my favorite times of the day.

  25. Those teeth! Wow. I love it!

  26. Elaine says:

I can totally relate to the "fart" jokes. Ha! Love that you are bonding with your little guy this way, so sweet and so needed! :)
