We went out at dusk (also known as the kids’ later summer bedtime), unfolded the camping chairs and settled in.

T started the projector (pointed at the garage door), and I got up fifteen times: made and delivered three bowls of popcorn, borrowed and lit the citronella coil, took the little (big!) girl to the bathroom, and turned off the hose that I had forgotten was watering the apple trees out back.

If you haven’t ever made your own driveway drive-in movie, I highly recommend it.

The shadow puppets alone are worth the price of admission.

We watched Mr. Popper’s Penguins, which was interesting enough for the adults to sit through, and had enough penguin poop action for the kids. They laughed and laughed as the penguins wreaked havoc, and I may have teared up a little at the end.

We crossed the Outdoor Movie Night off of our Summer Bucket List, but we’ll be doing it again (over and over).

But I’ve got bug spray ready for next time.

What’s your favorite summer kids’ movie?

Mommy Bear Mediaย is a mom-owned business specializing in family friendly movies and tv shows. They don’t even carry movies rated higher than PG-13. They’re also really reasonably priced and the shipping is FREE and super fast.

I wasn’t compensated for this post. I chose the movie to review and all opinions are 100% my own.ย
