My kids like TV. A lot. In the afternoons, when the girls are having “quiet time”, they’re usually watching a a show or a movie. When all of them have had a long day and need to wind down, I put in a movie. If I’m tired and it’s raining, or I’m tired and it’s not raining, sometimes I’ll put in a movie. We went and saw the Lorax in the movie theater, and the kids LOVED it (and maybe, so did I). It’s not out on DVD yet, but the animated version of the book is. I ordered the DVD and had it in the mailbox two days later.

Okay, so maybe I thought I was ordering the new version and received the other one. It’s possible.

Anyway, we got the true-to-book version and the kids loved it. They may have been disappointed for 2.7 seconds that it wasn’t the movie from the theater, but they watched it. And then they watched again. It’s possible they watched it a third time.

It’s not that long….I swear I wasn’t asleep while this was happening. I may have been blogging.

Of course they love it. Dr. Seuss was a mad genius, and this particular story is timeless.

“In a place where the Brown Bar-ba-loots frisk about and the Humming-Fish splash around, you will find the Lorax. The Lorax speaks for the trees, which the Once-ler is chopping down as fast as he pleases. Will the Once-ler change his destructive ways and heed the wise warnings of the Lorax? With the help of a young boy and the very last Truffula Tree seed, the Once-ler may still be able to right his wrongdoings.”

The kids were captivated by the rhymes, the bright colors, the interesting creatures. All the things that make Dr. Seuss’ stories impossible to stop reading (and watching). It’ll be in heavy rotation for quite some time.

Mommy Bear Media is a mom-owned business specializing in family friendly movies and tv shows. They don’t even carry movies rated higher than PG-13. They’re also really reasonably priced and the shipping is FREE and super fast.

I wasn’t compensated for this post. I chose the movie to review and all opinions (and silly ordering mistakes) are 100% my own. I bet you can guess what movie we’ll be ordering next…
